(1) After shower build-out, install all shower boards and apply water-proof
seam tape and/or coating to all seems and corners as usual.
(2) With a pencil or marker pre-mark the wall tiles in the area you wish to
install the shelf core with a level to ensure correct and level placement.
Note: Before installation of self core, you can use the shelf core as a template
to mark your tiles to speed up your tiling process later.
Push the shelf core into the pre-boarded and sealed shower wall corner. Use
your pre-marked and level guide lines as a guide. Next, push the (included)
mounting screws into each pre-drilled hole on the front sides of the shelf core.
Next, apply a small amount of the (included) adhesive/waterproofer to the other
side of shelf core, (where the screws will come through) as well as, the sides
of the back tip edges, (which will be pressed into the shower wall corner.
(3) Apply even pressure to the shelf core and using a drill driver with a
Phillips-head driver, simply screw the fasteners through shelf core and into
the shower board. Note: Be sure not to strip-out the wall boards while driving
the screws into the wall board, simply drive the screws until a snug fitting.
*If walls are badly “out-of-square” shelf core can be filed with a wood file or
sander for a tight fit prior to starting the installation.
Mark areas in corner with a level and
marker/pencil for proper installation.
Apply a small amount of (included)
adhesive to a shelf core (screw hole)
sides and sides of back tip.
Apply tile mastic to shelf core
and apply tiles and grout as normal.
Place both (included) screws into
pre-drilled holes at the front of shelf
core about ¼ inch into holes.
Push shelf core into wall corner with
even pressure and drive screws into
wall boards until snug.
